You’ve seen him on TV, you probably follow him on Instagram, and now he’s the latest CALM ambassador to join our movement against suicide: meet Kem Cetinay.
Kem’s Instagram bio simply reads: “A happy chap”. But he, like all of us, has been through his ups and downs. Now as a CALM ambassador, Kem has been using his platform to share positive messages around mental health and anxiety.
“I was at a place where I needed help so it was a big step into asking for help. After that I wanted to understand and control it a bit more, getting to the bottom of why I was feeling like that and having people around me who I could talk to.”
To announce his role as a CALM ambassador, Kem talked openly about his experiences to the Book of Man. Read the full interview here.
His friendship with fellow CALM ambassador and Love Islander Chris Hughes has caught the attention of many. The lads have been vocal about their strong relationship and being there for each other when things get tough. They epitomise the message behind CALM campaigns like Be The Mate You’d Want or Best Man Project – and we love it!
“For me one of best things is sport. If I’m feeling anxious or feeling down if I go to the gym I can shut off from everything and look at things with a clearer mind.”
Keep your eyes peeled for some CALM and Kem collaborations in future. In the meantime, make sure you’re following him on Instagram.
